Looking for your next IT Opportunity? Here’s our advice.
As the pandemic and lockdowns start to ease, the candidate market is becoming filled with qualified, successful and capable candidates looking for new opportunities. As we start to see the light at the end of the tunnel, we’re seeing more and more organisations restarting their hiring processes and abandoned projects, creating more technology jobs around the world. If you’re one of these candidates, we’re sharing some of our advice on finding the right tech job this year.
Look beyond job boards and search engines.
Thousands of jobs are posted online daily. Some of these could be duplicated, and some of the roles you may be looking for could get lost in all the noise. Signing up with recruitment consultants allows you to partner with a consultant who knows you and is able to match roles to your skills and culture fit.
Review your Personal Brand.
As LinkedIn is becoming one of the most used tools for hiring, many candidates are being found down to their personal brand and who they know. Optimizing your LinkedIn profile is not only a great way to get headhunted, but it’s also crucial that your LinkedIn profile matches your CV when recruiters or employers search for you.
Build your network.
As in-person events start to make a come-back, it’s important that you’re building your network both online and offline. This could include attending networking events or webinars where you know recruiters or employers of your choice will be. Being known in your network is one of the most underrated job searching hacks, and it’s important to put yourself out there and make meaningful connections.
To conclude, job searching is no longer a CV and a job match. Candidates are doing more and more to get noticed, and it’s important that you stay relevant and keep building your network to find new opportunities.
